The
Original Tokyo Rosewas formed in
the Summer of 1980 by Derek Buckham and Val Ophield in the North East of
England.
Buckham penned the original material
whilst Ophield sang and created the unique 80's image.
By June 81 it was necessary to
register our Band Name and the Songs as the strong image was starting to
influence a series of copy bands.

Certificate.
By 1983 they were honored by being
included in NWOBHM.
Tokyo Rose prided themselves of never
covering anyone else's material or copying anyone during their live concerts and to this
day, they have played hundreds of live concerts gaining a good following
of fans.
National media and local Radio
stations were always interested in the band and this convinced London
based companies to often visit the gigs.
However the Major Record deal has
always eluded them but it has never deterred them from producing Great
British Music. Now due to the Internet their superb
material can now be heard and seen and played
World wide.
Our first single "Dry
Your Eyes" is now selling on the Gemm Music Site for £120.
Maybe the Majors did get it wrong.

Someone at Myspace has deleted our
account 6 times without any explanation or apology. Hence the words to My
Place "lost my account 3 times(now6) they won't tell me why.
It doesn't bother us, that's Rock and
Roll but the Cancer Charity has suffered.
I'm sure one day when this person
needs help they will realise what a prat they have been.
I'm leaving the broken links on as we
are finding it quite amusing, it's better than collecting Train Numbers.
shame I did not have the earlier ones.
It looks like we are going to be
famous at last and be featured in the Guinness Book of Records as the Most
Deleted Band on My Space.
